The City of Paris has just been notified that, due to scheduling necessities, demolition and construction at the E. Wood Street & Poplar Street intersection will begin tomorrow morning, Friday, August 28.

What You Need to Know
Construction crews will begin demolition and signalization work at the intersection near Commercial Bank tomorrow morning. Every effort will be made to minimize traffic disruptions, but drivers should expect changes as work begins.
If you regularly travel through this intersection, please:
- Plan ahead and allow extra time for your commute
- Use caution when traveling through the construction area
- Watch for temporary traffic changes and construction activity
- Follow posted signs and directions from construction personnel
We understand that construction at this location may cause temporary inconvenience, particularly for those who travel through downtown regularly. These improvements are part of the City’s larger Downtown Signalization Project and will ultimately provide upgraded traffic signals, improved pedestrian safety, and better accessibility at key downtown intersections.
We apologize for the late notice and want to assure residents, businesses, and visitors that we are getting this information out as soon as we are notified.
We will continue to share updates as construction progresses and additional traffic impacts are known.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as this important improvement project moves forward.
