Residential Brush Collection

The City of Paris offers a Residential Brush Collection Program to help residents dispose of brush generated through routine yard maintenance. This service is available to eligible residential properties within the city limits and operates on a rotating zone schedule.

To keep the program running efficiently and fairly for everyone, residents must follow all collection guidelines regarding eligibility, acceptable materials, size limits, and placement requirements.

If prohibited materials are mixed into a brush pile, the entire pile may be left uncollected.

Right Time

Place eligible brush at the curb beginning the weekend before your scheduled pickup week. Public Works crews will collect brush during the last full week of your zone’s designated month.

Zone #1 Pickup Months: January, April, July, October

Zone #2 Pickup Months: February, May, August, November

Zone #3 Pickup Months: March, June, September, December

Right Place

โœ“ Along the roadside in front of the property where it was generated
โœ“ In a location accessible from the street

Do Not Place Brush:

โœ— In the roadway or sidewalk
โœ— In drainage ditches or culverts
โœ— Under power lines or trees
โœ— Near mailboxes, fences, fire hydrants, or utility equipment

Collection equipment can only reach approximately 15 feet from the roadway.

Right Size

To ensure safe and efficient collection:

Maximum limb length: 10 feet

Maximum pile width: 6 feet

Brush should be neatly stacked.

Piles must be accessible to collection equipment.

Brush that is placed out late, improperly, or does not meet program requirements will not be collected.

Public Works crews do not make return trips for missed pickups. Residents must wait until their next scheduled collection cycle.

Please note that brush collection is a convenience service and is not available by request, appointment, or special call-in.


Brush Collection Zones


Storm Event Collection

Following severe weather events, the City may temporarily suspend the normal zone schedule and implement a special storm debris collection program. When activated, collection priorities may change to address public safety concerns.

Announcements regarding storm debris collection will be posted on the City’s website and social media channels.

Can my landscaping company place brush out for pickup?

No. Debris generated by contractors, tree services, or commercial operations is not eligible for collection.

Can I call and request a pickup?

No. Brush collection operates on a zone-based schedule and does not offer on-demand pickups

What happens if I miss my collection week?

You must wait until your next scheduled collection cycle.

Will the City collect stumps or large tree trunks?

No. Stumps, root balls, and large trunks are not accepted.
