The Paris-Henry County Animal Shelter has made significant improvements over the past year, and we’re excited to invite the community out to see the progress firsthand.
Join us on Thursday, May 7 at 10:00 AM for a community celebration at the shelter, featuring a ribbon cutting for the new Shirley Newman Play Yard and an open house-style event.
Thanks to a generous donation from community member Shirley Newman, the new Play Yard is a fenced, covered space with artificial turf that gives dogs a safe, comfortable place to play, exercise, and interact with potential adopters.
Play Yard Ribbon Cutting
We’ll begin the morning with a brief ribbon cutting ceremony, held in partnership with the Chamber, to officially open the Shirley Newman Play Yard and recognize the generosity that made it possible.
Open House & Adoption Event
After the ribbon cutting, the event will transition into a relaxed, come-and-go open house. Guests are encouraged to tour the shelter, meet adoptable animals, explore the new Play Yard, and learn more about the adoption process!
Whether you’re ready to adopt or just want to visit, this is a great opportunity to connect with the shelter and see the positive changes that have taken place.
We’re proud of the progress made at the shelter and look forward to continuing that momentum with the support of our community. We hope to see you there!
