A big dream is becoming reality in Paris, Tennessee. On April 23, the Levi Miles Foundation broke ground on a brand-new inclusive playground at Ogburn Park. Designed for children of all abilities, this playground will be a space where everyone feels welcome.
A Project Fueled by Community Support
The project began in 2023, and thanks to strong community backing, more than $2 million of the $2.5 million goal has already been raised—including $1 million in in-kind donations. The City of Paris has officially accepted the donation of playground equipment and materials and will take on maintenance of the space once it’s complete.
What to Expect
The playground will cover 1.32 acres and include wide, accessible pathways, ADA-compliant restrooms, a gated perimeter, solar lighting, and special features like a zip line and inclusive seating. The design has received a Certificate of Inclusivity from Let Kids Play, making it the only playground in Tennessee with that certification.
More Than Just a Playground
At the groundbreaking, Shayna Miles spoke about the heart behind the project:
“This isn’t just for now—it’s for the future. We want this to outlast every single one of us.”
She and her husband, David Miles, founded the Levi Miles Foundation to support children with disabilities and help build a more inclusive community. Their vision is now becoming a lasting part of Paris.
