Rison St Bridge Comes Down as Replacement Project Moves Forward

Construction crews have made significant progress on the Rison Street Bridge Replacement Project, including the complete removal of the existing bridge over Jones Bend Creek.

Since work began, Ford Construction has mobilized onsite, utility relocation has been completed, and the existing bridge has been removed. Crews have also completed the required fish sweep and installed a water dam and pipe system to maintain stream flow during construction.

With the old bridge now removed, crews have moved into general excavation and riprap placement at the site.

What’s Next

Once the riprap work is complete, pile driving will begin, followed by construction of the bridge abutments and concrete work. Depending on project progress and weather conditions, beam installation could begin toward the end of the next 30 days. Favorable weather has helped keep construction moving, and an updated project schedule is expected soon.

After the delays and challenges that came before it, the City is pleased to see this project progressing and the new bridge beginning to take shape. We’ll continue sharing updates and photos as construction progresses.
