City of Paris Holiday Closures & Sanitation Schedule – 2026

Planning ahead for holidays is easier when you know which city facilities are closed and how sanitation schedules change. Here’s everything you need to know for 2026.

Facility Closures

The following facilities will be closed on the listed holidays unless otherwise noted: City Hall, Police Records, Public Works, Paris Civic Center, Paris-Henry County Landfill, and Paris-Henry County Animal Shelter.

• New Year’s Day (Thursday, Jan. 1)
  • Civic Center closes early at 4 PM on December 31
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, Jan. 19)
  • Civic Center open regular hours
• President’s Day (Monday, Feb. 16)
  • Civic Center open regular hours
• Fish Fry Grand Parade (Friday, Apr. 24)
  • Only Civic Center, Landfill, and Animal Shelter closed
• Independence Day Observance
  • City Hall, Police Records, and Public Works closed July 2
  • Landfill and Animal Shelter closed July 3–4
  • Civic Center closed July 4
  • Eiffel Tower Pool and Splash Pad close early at 4 PM on July 4
• Thanksgiving (Wed–Thu, Nov. 25–26)
  • Civic Center closed only on November 26
  • Landfill and Animal Shelter closed November 26–28
• Christmas (Wed–Thu, Dec. 23–24)
  • Civic Center closes at 4 PM on Dec. 24 and closed Dec. 25
  • Landfill and Animal Shelter closed Dec. 24–26

Sanitation Schedule Changes

Sanitation generally follows the normal schedule, but some holidays require adjustments:

• New Year’s: Thursday routes picked up Wednesday, Dec. 31
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Monday routes picked up Tuesday, Jan. 20
• President’s Day: Monday routes picked up Tuesday, Feb. 17
• Memorial Day: Monday routes picked up Tuesday, May 26
• Independence Day Week: Thursday routes picked up Wednesday, July 1
• Labor Day: Monday routes picked up Tuesday, Sept. 8
• Thanksgiving Week:
  • Monday & Tuesday routes picked up Monday, Nov. 23
  • Wednesday & Thursday routes picked up Tuesday, Nov. 24
• Christmas Week:
  • Monday & Tuesday routes picked up Monday, Dec. 21
  • Wednesday & Thursday routes picked up Tuesday, Dec. 22

If your regular pickup day is not listed above, your schedule remains unchanged.
