The Brooks Street Drainage Improvement Project is continuing to move forward as crews prepare to resume construction following recent weather delays and material coordination.
At this time, approximately 600 feet of storm drainage pipe remains to be installed. This portion of the work is expected to take about four working days once crews return to the site. The final deliveries of drainage pipe were scheduled to arrive this week to support this phase of construction.
In addition, one remaining water line relocation and one hydrant installation are still required. These items are expected to take approximately one additional working day to complete once work resumes.
After the underground utility and drainage work is finished, the project will require roughly two additional weeks to complete final tasks. This includes stabilization work, pouring concrete inverts, setting the headwall, placing riprap, and restoring the roadway with paving.
Due to current wet site conditions and forecasted rain, no work is planned for this week. Construction is expected to resume on Monday, June 1, weather permitting. Once work resumes, Brooks Street will experience full street closures throughout the week while storm drainage installation is completed.
As of May 27, 2026, gravel has been placed in low areas of the work zone to help maintain site access and improve temporary driving conditions during the pause in construction.
The overall goal is to complete the project by the end of June, provided weather conditions allow. We appreciate the continued patience of residents as this important infrastructure project progresses. Updates will continue to be shared as work moves forward.
