Work on the Brooks Street Drainage Improvement Project has temporarily paused due to weather and ground conditions.
Last week, Delta Contracting attempted to begin installation of the new water main; however, excessive mud and groundwater made it unsafe and impractical to continue construction at this time. Because of these conditions, all on-site work has been temporarily stopped. Tentative plans are for construction to resume in February, once ground conditions improve.
While work is paused, City staff will continue to monitor the project area on a weekly basis. Any settling or surface issues will be addressed as needed to maintain safety and accessibility.
