Nondiscrimination Statement

The City of Paris, Tennessee, complies with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related nondiscrimination statutes and regulations. Title VI prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin in any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.

The City is committed to ensuring that no person is excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or subjected to discrimination under any program or activity it operates.


Your Rights Under Title VI

Under Title VI, you have the right to:

  • File a complaint if you believe you have been discriminated against based on race, color, or national origin in any program, service, or activity.
  • Access services and information in a language you understand (if needed, translation or interpretation services can be provided).
  • Receive equal treatment and services without discrimination.

Filing a Complaint

If you believe you have been discriminated against by the City of Paris, you may file a Title VI complaint. All complaints must be submitted within 180 days of the alleged discrimination.
