The City of Paris is investing $1.6 million in street improvements through the 2026 Annual Street Paving Program. Throughout the project, this page will serve as the official source for construction updates, schedules, and progress reports.
Why these streets?
Each year, City streets are evaluated using a pavement condition grading system that helps Public Works identify which roads are in the greatest need of repair. This objective process allows the City to prioritize paving projects where they will have the greatest impact.
For 2026, the City increased its annual paving budget to $1.6 million in recognition of several factors that accelerated pavement deterioration, including:
- Damage caused by the January winter storm
- Street cuts and pavement impacts resulting from the Paris Board of Public Utilities water rehabilitation project
- Normal wear and aging of City streets
These additional funds will allow the City to address more streets than in a typical paving season.
Construction Schedule
Work is weather dependent and schedules may change due to rain, equipment availability, or unforeseen conditions. Milling operations are scheduled to begin on Volunteer Drive on the week of July 13, 2026.
