City Court is typically held on the:1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month at 3:00 PM


Received a Citation?

Your court date is printed on your citation. You must take action before that date. Some citations may be paid without appearing in court. But, payment without court appearance will be entered on your record. If this is the case bring or mail your signed summons and payment to the Paris Police Department before your court date.

Appear in Court

If you plan to appear in court, you must notify the Records Office at least four (4) days prior to your court date. Call: 731-641-1413

Court dates may be rescheduled one time by contacting the Records Office. Failure to respond to a citation may result in additional penalties, including suspension of your driver’s license.

  • Hand-held device violation: $65

Court attendance is required if requesting traffic school.


Equipment Violations (Lights or Window Tint)

If your citation involves equipment violations such as lights or window tint:

  1. Correct the issue.
  2. Bring vehicle with corrected violation to the Paris Police Department.
  3. The fee may be waived after verification.

What to Expect at Court

  • Casual attire is permitted.
  • Bring your citation and any supporting documentation.
  • Silence cell phones during court proceedings.
  • Arrive early for check-in and enter through the police department door.

Missing Your Court Date

Failure to appear or respond may result in:

  • A warrant being issued
  • Additional penalties
  • Driver’s license suspension
