Since 2022, the Henry County Trustee Office has collected both City of Paris and Henry County property taxes. The information below is provided to help residents understand how property taxes are billed and where payments should be made.
Paying City Property Taxes
City and County property tax statements are combined into one bill. Residents pay both City and County property taxes directly through the Henry County Trustee Office.
Paris City Hall does not collect property tax payments.
Understanding Your Property Tax Statement
On your property tax statement, you will see three separate amounts listed in the bottom right-hand corner:
1. County Taxes
2. City Taxes
3. Special School Districts
These amounts are totaled at the bottom of the statement for the full amount due.
The Henry County Trustee Office collects City property taxes on behalf of the City of Paris and then distributes the City portion back to the City.
Why Taxes Are Collected Through the Trustee Office
The City of Paris partners with the Henry County Trustee Office to keep property tax billing and payments centralized in one location. This helps reduce confusion, ensures payments are applied correctly, and prevents residents from accidentally missing part of their tax obligation.
Because City and County property taxes are combined on one statement, all payments must be processed through the Henry County Trustee Office.
