The City of Paris, Tennessee is pleased to announce that we are applying for a FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant to fund the installation of a tornado warning system. This project aims to enhance public safety by providing timely alerts and warnings to residents in the event of a tornado.
Proposed Activity in a Federal Flood Risk Management Standard
Designated Floodplain and Wetland
The City of Paris announces a proposed project under the Community Development Block Grant B-24-DC-47-0001 located in the FFRMS floodplain and wetland at Eiffel Tower Park Extended. The project includes paving a parking lot, installing a fishing pier, and creating an ADA-compliant walking trail. No significant environmental impact was found. The project is within a floodplain/wetland, but impacts are minimal (<1 acre) with no mitigation needed. Public comments on this aspect are due by March 26, 2025.
The public is encouraged to provide input on floodplain and wetland concerns by March 26, 2025. Comments must be received at City of Paris, 100 N Caldwell St., Paris, TN 38242, or via email to kray@cityofparistn.gov.
