Mayor Carlton Gerrell
I would like to welcome you to the website for the City of Paris. Our city is located in Henry County, just minutes from Kentucky Lake. We are approximately 60 miles northeast of Jackson, Tennessee and 80 miles west of Clarksville, Tennessee. Nashville is an easy drive just two hours east. Paris is a wonderful place to live, rich in history and full of possibilities.
Annually, the last full week of April, we are the home of the World’s Biggest Fish Fry. This is a festival with parades, carnivals, music, rodeos and much more. In addition, that week we serve over 12,000 pounds of catfish with all the trimmings. Our historic downtown, rich with history and a court square full of trees, is a popular attraction for tourist as well. A 60 ft. Eiffel Tower replica stands in none other than Eiffel Tower Park! This park is in addition to three other parks throughout the city offering ball fields, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, civic center, walking trails, playground equipment and a disc golf course to name a few.
Our medical center is a county owned and operated non-profit organization. The medical center is the nucleus of a much larger medical community. There are numerous specialties and living/retirement facilities offered in Paris, making Paris a premier retirement destination.
The City’s economic base is diversified with manufacturing, retail, transportation and recreation. Local industry serves the automotive, hardware, refrigeration, foodservice, wholesalers and furniture markets.
Hunting and fishing opportunities abound in our community. Many other outdoor sports are available including Holly Fork Shooting Complex, the site for the Tennessee Junior Olympics.
If you are a resident, we hope you will find this site full of resources to enhance your life in our community.
